No, I think you're definitely right. I'm rapidly approaching 50, lack all of those things, and definitely have a number of, "OK, *why* am I going to work today?" moments in any given month. It's definitely a concern. And I at least have the advantage of having been raised in a time that valued work and self sufficiency, at least to some extent. I know that "The kids these days!" goes back to at least Ancient Greece, but damn if it doesn't feel like things are coming off the rails. Peace.
