Hollywood and progressive Jews, more broadly, are Jewish in name only. In my view, they do not reflect Jewish values in any way. The values held by non-progressive Jews are in line with traditional Russian and conservative values. That said, I fully recognize that there is a great deal of domestic antisemitism in many Russian households. The same is true of some Western Jewish households, which for some reason consider Russians inferior to other Westerners. My sense is that this attitude stems from a European legacy. Most Europeans, particularly the British and French, regard Russians as second-class people.
