Do you remember Libertarian Realist? He disappeared, and I've never found anything about him since then.

"An open mind is an open wound - a vector for infection."

I'm pretty sure some Warhammer 40K character said something to that effect in a cool imposing voice, but it is pretty much the perspective of the low-Openness personalities. It's also true.

As a highly open-minded person myself, I have had to learn the painful lessons on when it is necessary to restrict my experiential and sympathetic aperture in the face of a world teeming with diseased predators and poisonous ideas. Bismarck and I both were there on 4chan during the rise of the Alt Right. Even today I was forced once again to defend those anime-loving anons from those who recognize nothing of their contributions to Nationalism, the sorts who rhetorically condemn them to the guillotine because they enjoy their Chinese cartoons - not realizing Nationalism would be nowhere near where it is today without those legions of faceless, nameless, open-minded shitposters.

It's an ecology, not a monoculture. Americans especially think in terms of silver bullets - there is one problem, there is one solution. There is one goal, there is one winning move. There is one group, there must be only one kind of person in it. This is erroneous thinking, a constraint of our ability to grasp complexities of groups consisting of a myriad of different strands, all which interact in a variety of ways to produce emergent effects that don't work without the presence and balance of the various populations of actors.

This, like most things, reflects in nature. Most bacteria cannot be cultivated under laboratory conditions in isolation. In fact, most bacterial colonies consist of hundreds if not thousands of different species. Some species are far more numerous than others in individual cell count. Some are so rare that among millions of bacteria there may be less than a dozen individual cells - yet these are keystone species that, without their presence, the whole of the colony collapses. Such as it is with any human groups, Nationalism especially included.

It would be a grave error to hollow out all the anime-hating curmudgeons and replace them with top-tier 4chan shitposters, just as it would be a mistake to do the reverse. There is a constant internal battle for epistasis, for stability and balance, and if one groups grows too much out of control they can tilt the ecology in the wrong way and cause its collapse into irrelevancy. Surprisingly enough, despite the rumors, Nationalists have to be MORE tolerant than Lefties in order to survive and thrive. But it is a tolerance that requires both permissive boundaries and strict ones depending on that which is being walled off.

Bismarck, like most open-minded sorts, hates it when people slap his hand and tell him no for reaching into the cookie jar. Fuck them, I want my cookies! At the same time, stodgy harumphers hate being told to loosen up and endure the eccentricities of their compatriots. Fuck them, they're going to ruin everything! The fact is both are right, in their proper moderations and amounts.

What is the proper balance? I'd say a very strong and numerous wall of straightforward, non-open sorts who set the absolute no-go boundaries for a healthy, but not as numerous, open-minded population - with plenty of porous boundaries within they will be coaxed to permit if the transgression is worthwhile enough. I.E. there must be an absolute boundary against pedophiles and other forms of destructive sexuality, while there should be porous boundaries when it comes to lets say "creative" forms of sexual adventure that do not amount to the destructive kind. We shake our fingers at Don Juans, but we don't hang them like pedophiles.

This balance requires a bit of internal struggling and productive pushing back against even your fellows. Again, all symbioses in nature require the constant upkeep of boundaries and mechanisms to enforce respect for them even between very healthy relationships, lest the relationship turns exploitative or rejects the symbiosis altogether. That was how the Alt Right was, and that is how the healthiest ecosystems post-Charlottesville have been. A lot of seeds have been planted, and the motley crop is starting to rise.

Everything to do with political correctness was the best thing to happen to Republicans ever. I’m all for reviving the Clinton Democrat, which means we don’t give a fuck about the blowjob, we even approve of it.

Let’s go Newsom.

5,000 words mapping every faction on the dissident right and not a single mention of Israel — in a post-October 7th movement history, from a guy who traces his lineage back to Ron Paul supporters bitter about "Neo-Con" treatment in 2012. Fuentes appears six times, always as a prop to demonstrate his lack of gravitas compared to Spencer or yourself, never once engaging with the actual substance of America First or why it resonates. The kid's central issue is the one thing your entire analytical framework is carefully built to avoid. You talk about "never ceding moral authority to bad faith gatekeepers who extract power from unadjudicated jurisdictional writ" — now apply that to AIPAC, the $4B annual aid package, and the Antisemitism Awareness Act and tell me how it reads.

"Neurotype over race," sovereignty as personal brand, racism as shibboleth, multiracial männerbund — all very sophisticated, all very convenient for never naming the one collective actor whose influence on foreign policy, financial regulation, and speech norms actually shapes the lives of people you claim to speak for. Trump reduced to pure "Barstooler impulse" so you never have to discuss embassy moves, Kushner, pardons given and withheld, or second-term priorities. You close with "go read your Schmitt." I have. The friend-enemy distinction applied honestly is exactly what this essay exists to avoid.

What the fuck is so important about Israel?

I want internet people to explain to me, from both the left and the right.

Will getting rid of Israel make your country white and man dominated again?

For the leftists, will getting rid of Israel end capitalism?

Why the fuck should anyone pay attention to Israel any more than the five minutes they pop up in the news cycle because some stupid bomb detonated in the middle east. Why do we care about this?

Christopher's avatar

Not Israel per-say but the cancerous and poisonous influence of Jews and their demonic and degenerate stranglehold on the US and western nations in general. Israelis just a part problem of the those spawn of Satan Jews have caused for white western nations

Eddy's avatar

I like Jews more than I like you. You ever heard Steely Dan?

You’d never create something as great as a Steely Dan song. Your posts are garbage for the inane, very low level.

I want kikes exterminated completely no buts. The only good Kìke is a dead Kìke

No Hot Takes's avatar

Because it's not about Israel, it's about what flows through it. Unit 8200 alumni built the surveillance infrastructure half of Silicon Valley runs on — your deplatforming happened through tools developed there. Institutional capture means AIPAC doesn't need to win arguments, it just primaries anyone who disagrees and both parties clap. The Iran escalation ladder leads to a regional war that blows up oil prices, triggers another inflation spike, unwinds the yen carry trade again, and crashes the global economy — that's YOUR cost of living, not some "stupid bomb in the middle east." Pax Judaica means American boys deployed to fight wars that serve someone else's regional interests while you write Substack posts about vibes. And the genocide thing — 40,000+ dead, majority women and children — isn't some abstract moral concern, it's the thing that makes every word of "sovereignty" and "friend-enemy distinction" ring completely hollow when you won't apply it to the most visible case on earth. But sure, boring topic. Back to ranking how Jake Lang is your favorite goyslop creator.

Eddy's avatar

I view the anti-Jew sentiment as a way for everyone in the right wing to avoid responsibility for everything they choose to do and a way to justify themselves becoming worse people.

I simply do not run into any internet anti-Jewish zealots whom I can consider great people who are a joy to be around. You’re all the worst.

No Hot Takes's avatar

Zero points addressed. Not one. AIPAC, Unit 8200, oil prices, yen carry trade, institutional capture, Fuentes's deplatforming, economics — nothing. Just vibes. Enjoy your draft card when the Iran war kicks off since you're so bored by the topic. Americans have been dying for this shit since 1948 and you can't be bothered to read. Meanwhile the country's global credibility is in freefall backing a client state that takes $4B annually, drags us into regional wars, spies on us with impunity, and whose PM openly treats the US as a host organism. But yeah, boring.

"We're the worst" - we're just fucking right nigga.

You’re the one that needs to convince me and you’re failing.

You do not hold a default position in which I’m obligated to agree with you unless I win this debate. You need to convince me.

You will fail.

No Hot Takes's avatar

"You need to convince me" — brother nobody's trying to recruit you. You were asked why Israel matters and got a list: AIPAC spending, Unit 8200 surveillance tech, Iran escalation → oil → inflation → global crash, 75 years of American blood and treasure, collapsing US credibility. You responded to none of it. That's not "you failed to convince me," that's fingers in your ears going nanananana. You don't need to be convinced, you need to learn to read.

Go get geofenced at some evangelical event.

Nicky F is truly right ... Southerners are so inbred and inward facing ... they can't discern anything from the outside

Exactly! I don't care about either Israel or Palestine.

None concerns me about saving White People, let alone for helping the South regaining Independence.

I have zero sympathy for either Israel or Palestine, always have.

Interesting article and highlights the differences between DR and Post Alt Right. Also random though Walt do you have kids or plan on having them? Just curious how that affects your thinking at all

I came across the following formula in a recent Non-Zionism post:

1. My side is retarded.

2. Wait, so why do I want my side to win?

3. I am retarded.

Pretty succinct.

Anyway, re: RH, I think any rightist of alt or dissident leanings (and kal vachomer Hanania himself) hits step 1 on reading his original Based Ritual essay. It's just too on the nose, you want to laugh it off but you can't deny it and it leaves you uneasy. Cornfed Nebraskans got nothing on the kids in the White House now.

Why is the Pissident Right not advocating for independence?

LULZ, and we wonder why Cascadia or New England are more likely to succeed once they are indepnedent.

Great article btw, this is why I can't support Trump at all.

What I like about this piece is that it actually contains some straightforward, trenchant writing. It's hers, of course. Now, for both the lady and you, Walt, what is missing is some sense of the telos of society, that is, "what is our end?" And for ourselves, as persons, as well. That is, in the constant overturn of lives, what we desire above all else. We KNOW it exists beyond our ken and will. We simply know that. So faith is the knowledge that the love and action of God reaches us, especially when we are empty and bereft of other help. Otherwise? We are explosively propelled away from the lives that we have, into a void, a meaningless chasm. That's the last temptation to despair we face on our deathbed. The "right" has always been associated with the "permanent things", which is not too far from the "eternal things." This is far, far better than left and right trading transgressiveness back and forth.

Walt Bismarck's avatar

I never found absurdism all that horrifying. It's peaceful in a way if anything. Christianity if true would be genuinely quite terrible, though.

Fulton's avatar

Well yes, it is. But that is only because it is the light against the background of the dark. Paul was absolutely right in his cosmology. Principalities and powers. Surely, as an "absurdist" you get, prima facie, how plausible that is.

At the moment it doesn't seem like there is any risk of the left becoming a "reasonable alternative." They don't seem to have changed one iota in response to the 2024 election. All of their beliefs are the same and they still just whine about Orange Man constantly. They can't even drop the trans thing. If one of them wins in 2028 they're going to fling the border wide open again on day one.

This is why I imagine there will still be room for non-Christian-moralists on the right, at least for the foreseeable future. The left is still all-or-nothing. You either believe in all of their shibboleths or you're anathema. They still won't claim Richard Hanania even though all he does for the past few years is shill on their behalf. On the right this is not the case. I believe strongly in Christian morality and try to defend it but I won't just automatically unperson someone for not aligning themselves with it, and I'm more than happy to ally with them against leftism.

Dialgatime321's avatar

The left would IMO have been more likely to change if Kamala Harris barely won compared to otl

It would allow cultural wiggle room for dissident postlefty factions to have their voice as the normie libs calmed down while the right would keep blackpilling and radicalizing in favor of serious national divorce.

See, now Democrats know they don't even have to rlly try to win in 2026 or 2028. If Harris had won by less than Biden 2020/the skin of their teeth, they'd be on their feet.

Reminder that Harris was campaigning on more border enforcement, building the wall, and serious action against immigration. I think she would be about as tough on immigration as Trump is going to be post-Februrary 2026, until the midterms and until 2028, and the Biden wave would slow.

She also campaigned on legalizing sex work back in 2019, and only moderated due to an appeal to the right.

Worst case the economy is slightly worse and people are polarized against some of the dumbest housing policy.

Meanwhile, the left realizes Democrats in power isn't solving any underlying problems, which would be more likely to convince them than giving them an orange blotzi to blame.
